Spot the Conflict: Catching Design & Spec Gaps Before They Cost You

Wednesday, January 14, 2026 (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) (CST)

Description

Design and specification conflicts are one of the most common—and costly—issues on construction projects. In this session, Adam Handfinger will walk through how contractors can identify design and spec conflicts early, understand where risk typically hides in project documents, and prevent small inconsistencies from escalating into delays, rework, or claims. Attendees will leave with practical strategies they can apply before and during construction to protect schedules, budgets, and relationships. Adam Handfinger is the CEO of Document Crunch and a board-certified construction lawyer with more than 25 years of experience advising contractors, subcontractors, and project teams on real-world jobsite challenges. He is a frequent speaker at national construction industry events and teaches construction principles in Nova Southeastern University’s Master of Real Estate program. Adam also leads training programs for construction companies, associations, insurers, and major project teams across the country.
