Seminar Overview:

The OSHA 30-Hour Construction course prepares workers, managers, and employers on how to recognize, avoid, correct, and prevent health and safety hazards commonly found on construction worksites. Course topics include:

  • Introduction to OSHA
    • Workers’ rights and employer responsibilities
    • Compliant reporting
    • Record-keeping
    • How to file a complaint

  • Competent Person Requirements
  • Focus Four Hazards (fall hazards, electrocution hazards, caught-in or –between hazards, struck-by hazards)

  • Motor vehicle, mechanized equipment, and marine hazards
  • Mobile Elevate Work Platforms (MEWP’s) Boom lifts and Scissor lifts
  • Excavation Safety
  • Work zone traffic control
  • Forklift Operations
  • Health hazards related to construction (Silica, Lead, Asbestos)
  • Hand and power tool hazards
  • Concrete and masonry hazards
  • Steel erection hazards
  • Welding and cutting hazards
  • Fire Protection and fire prevention
  • Confined space hazards
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • The roles of management and the workforce in promoting a positive safety culture

ABC Members may select the option to be invoiced. Non-members will need to pay at the time of registration either via credit card payment online.
