Texas State University (TXST) is providing 2 hours of Ergonomics training to six hundred (600) workers/employees and employers in the construction and general industries. The training is FREE, and it is supported by the Susan Harwood Targeted Topic Training Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. Training materials include a basic concept of musculoskeletal injuries, sprains, and strains, stretch-and-flex, and injury prevention and mitigation techniques. Training also includes an overview of employee rights, employer responsibilities and whistleblower laws. The targeted audience includes young workers, temporary, minority, limited English speaking, and other disadvantaged and hard-to-reach workers and worker communities.
