We formed the Construction Executives Breakfast Group to give our industry leaders the opportunity to come together on a quarterly basis, discuss/share local and regional items that are having an impact on our businesses, and hear from various guest speakers to address industry, economic, or political issues that we need to know about as leaders in the construction industry.

Ryan Baker

Karlin Real Estate

Since joining Karlin Real Estate in 2021 as Director of Construction, Ryan is responsible for all phases of project development including due diligence, zoning and entitlements, permitting, design, and construction of Karlin’s Austin portfolio.

Notable Karlin projects under construction or delivered include:

• Highpoint (former 1.1mm SF 3M campus repositioning)
• Parmer Sectors 2 & 5 Core/Shell (3 buildings 480k SF and structured parking garage)
• Discovery to Impact Wet Lab in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin
• The Post and The Edition (Garden and Wrap Multi-family Deals)
• BAE Systems Build to Suit
• California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy in partnership with University of California Los Angeles

Prior to Karlin, Ryan was Director of Construction for six years at New York based Sackman Enterprises, delivering high-rise multi-family, mixed-use and office deals to the Austin market. Ryan also spent 10 years working for a national construction management firm that spanned institutional, commercial office, multi-family and healthcare product types. Ryan is a graduate of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University and a native to Austin.

Kurt Cleveland

Stratus Properties

Kurt Cleveland has lived in Austin, Texas for the past 24 years and currently leads the construction efforts for Stratus Properties. Prior to joining Stratus in 2018 he was the Director of Preconstruction for Austin Commercial in Austin. He holds a B.S. and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
